Domino's gives you a bell before your pizza arrives

In a move that could usefully be copied by every organisation that makes home deliveries (including and possibly especially Australia Post), pizza chain Domino's has introduced its call on arrival service.

43 years ago on 3 April, 1973, the first ‘real’ cellular phone call was made by former Motorola inventor and employee, Martin Cooper.

Although the history of mobile phone calls of various types spans decades, with a limited yet commercial mobile service available in St Louis in 1946, the first 'modern' handheld mobile phone call made in the US in 1973 and not until 1985 in the UK, Australia's first mobile call was thirty years ago today - August 9, 1981.
